OPENING LOG

Who: Eli Wallace and OPEN
What: Welcome to Destiny
Where: Stargate Room
When: One lonely night...
Warnings: None yet!

It had been a long week and a half.

Eli had spent most of it on the bridge, trying various calculations, trying to get the last stasis pod working, or, even better, find a way to extend life support or increase power to last the next three years.

It isn't looking hopeful.

When the all-too-familiar feeling of the ship shuddering out of FTL happens, he can't really believe it. Why? Why now? He's been monitoring the power consumption so carefully! And then he notices the indicator. The monitor belonging to Stargate Operations. He stares at it.

"...Incoming Wormhole?"

His voice is incredulous. No... Why now? Why?! There weren't any planetary Stargates in range, so that meant someone had dialled the Nine Chevron code from a non-Destiny-style Stargate.

They can't take on any more people. This screws everything over...

He sets a Kino off to go investigate the Gate Room, snatching up a remote, before heading to the armoury.

He jogs into the Gate Room just as the Wormhole connects, the familiar "ka-woosh" of the unstable vortex, before it settles into the event horizon. Eli takes up position at the console, a rifle under an arm... Just in case.

"Why not? Ballet is such a pretty dance!" At least what she's seen in old movies and internet videos.

"Ooooooh yeah. Hell, even a hundred years was a whole other ballpark, let 'lone by the time my time came around."

"One needs patrons to fund such a thing. The patrons I had would fund shows in Paris but not beyond."

He gave a half-shrug. He knew why, of course. All the heart, all the light, had gone out of his dances.

"I wonder if most of the people here will be from closer to your time. Assuming, of course, there are more."
thevoidsdarkhorse: (Now let me think)

"Patrons? Oh, right, right. Man, that sucks. Art should be allowed to travel."

Roxy hummed, looking around. "There's gonna be more. There's no signs of any struggle, and portal would be an escape route. Place it too well maintained to have been abandoned. No, no, someone's defs here." She wandered over to the console.

"Iiiii'd say the range is from mid-twenty-first century to something closer to my time. That's a question of history, what's diff, what's the same, but if it's similar, that'd be the key range."

"Yes, it should be."

He more or less followed behind her.

"Well. Perhaps then our hosts will be kind enough to join us."
thevoidsdarkhorse: (Not sure that means what you think it me)

"Le sign, money is such a bothersome thing, honestly."

She's examining the screen and set up thoughtfully. Plotting to break in, hacking, normal stuff like that.

"Would be nice. Kinda worrying they're all radio silent on us."

He gave a half-amused look at the 'le sigh'. The girl was full of interesting speech, wasn't she?

"Mm. Well, as I cannot make use of their things, perhaps I shall see if I cannot find someone."
thevoidsdarkhorse: (Well ain't that a sight)

Le sign even. Because yes, she did say sign. That's just how Roxy rolls.

"Sounds good. Careful though! If they pull guns, hands up, and do what they say. Less misunderstandin', the better."
