"It's what we call them." she informed. Not that she was aiming to impress with that name. It was just what had been given to the race of people that were highly advance despite their name. They were still a mystery even to her.

"We have FTL drives for that." Hyperdrives but from what she was sensing they were now down. Everything else was hard to grasp. She had to focus on the person in front of her.

"There's symbols on the gate and a point of origin. It's like an address. Once you dial in and it settles, you just step through and travel faster than the speed of light until you are on the other side." She explained as best as she could from what she had gathered during her original connection. She couldn't speak from experience. And oh how she wished that she could have experienced gate travel and see a different planet.

"Space yes, depending on the gates within range. Time..." Her voice trailed off, if only she had clearer access. "That's relative."
